ALARM in Korçë / Here is what the police discovered at the scene

Tension moments were reported this Sunday in neighborhood No. 18 of Korçë, after a vehicle was surrounded by a large number of police forces due to suspicions of a possible explosive device.
According to preliminary information, the owner of a “Audi” vehicle, Gëzim Pasho, had alerted the police after suspecting that a suspicious object had been placed in his car. Police officers and specialists immediately arrived at the scene, isolating the area and carrying out detailed inspections of the vehicle.
After verification, authorities determined that there was no explosive material in the vehicle. Instead, they discovered a GPS tracking device installed in the car, suspected to have been used to monitor its movements and location in real time.
The vehicle owner, Gëzim Pasho, is reportedly an inspector at the Forestry Directorate in Korçë and has previously been involved in private business activities in the city.
So far, it remains unclear who installed the device and what the purpose of monitoring his movements was, while police have launched investigations to fully clarify the case.

At around 09:00 on 17.05.2026, in neighborhood No. 18, Korçë, on “Petraq Shomo” street, a package was found on the rear tire of a vehicle owned by G. P., which was suspected to contain an explosive device.
Police cordoned off the area to keep residents away from the danger perimeter.
Forces from the bomb disposal unit were called to the scene to assess the situation and carry out the necessary procedures.
After inspection, it was confirmed that the object placed on the vehicle was a GPS device and not an explosive.
The investigative team, under the direction of the Prosecution, continues work to identify and arrest the person who installed the GPS device.
