BREAKING NEWS/ Skënderbeu won with five sets in Shkodër

The match between Vllaznia and Skënderbeu in the men’s national volleyball championship ended a short while ago in Shkodër, with Skënderbeu winning 3-2 (25-21, 19-25, 17-25, 25-18, 9-15).

It was a real marathon match, lasting 2 hours with 5 sets played and comebacks from both teams. In the end, the Korça team emerged victorious, earning 2 points while Vllaznia got 1 point.

The first set started with a 3-3 tie, and there were several other ties throughout, including 6-6, 8-8, and 12-12. Vllaznia attempted to gain an advantage with 1 or 2 points, and at 22-19, the final points were scored, with the hosts managing to win the set 25-21, taking a 1-0 lead.

In the second set, Skënderbeu woke up and took the lead early, 3-6, then 6-10, 8-14, and 11-18, showing they were determined to win the set. They eventually won 19-25, leveling the match at 1-1.

The third set was again dominated by Skënderbeu, with scores like 4-6, 6-9, 12-15, and 13-17. At 14-21, it seemed like the set would end early, and in the end, Skënderbeu won 17-25, taking a 2-1 set lead.

The fourth set looked like it would follow the same rhythm as the previous one, but Vllaznia surprised early, leading 5-1 and then 9-2, showing excellent play. Skënderbeu struggled to find its rhythm and only managed to close the gap to 12-11. However, Vllaznia pulled away again, leading 19-11 with a 7-point streak, and then 22-16, finishing the set 25-18, leveling the sets at 2-2.

The fifth and final set started well for Skënderbeu, who led 1-4, then 2-7. They maintained control of the set, leading 4-10, 4-13, and finally winning 9-15, securing a 3-2 victory.

Skënderbeu, with this hard-fought win in 5 sets, earned 2 points, bringing their total to 19 points, and they remain in second place, behind Partizani.
