The 12th round of the Kazakhstan Premier League was played, where the match between FC Atyrau and FC Tobol ended in a 1–1 draw.
One of the key players of the match was former KF Skënderbeu Korçë midfielder Mario Rabiu, who scored the equalizer in the 71st minute, giving his team an important point.
For the 26-year-old Nigerian, this was his first goal of the new season, a moment that gives him more confidence moving forward in the championship.
Rabiu is not an unfamiliar name in European and Albanian football. Before his spell in Kazakhstan, he played for Modena FC in Italy’s Serie B, while his longest and most stable period in his career was at KF Skënderbeu Korçë, where he played from July 2023 to February 2025.
During his time in Korçë, Rabiu was considered a midfielder with strong potential and an important role in the team. In 2024, he reached his highest market value at around €300,000.
Today, his estimated value has dropped to around €100,000, but despite that, his latest goal shows he still remains a player capable of making a difference in key moments.
Rabiu will now aim to continue building his form in Kazakhstan, with the goal of regaining the stability and impact he had during the best periods of his career in Europe.
