Her ex-fiancé killed her parents and took her hostage, Rozalinda Plaka recounts: “Refiti gave me 3 ultimatums”
The serious incident that occurred in Fier in July shocked the public, when Refit Buzi went to his former fiancée’s home and shot and killed her parents, while holding her hostage for several hours.
After hours of negotiations with the police, he agreed to release Rozalinda Plaka and then died by suicide inside his car.
According to the perpetrator’s family members, the conflict had arisen over a large sum of money that, they claimed, their son had previously given her and that she refused to return.
But how did the conflict between Plaka and Buzi begin, a chain of events that appears to have preceded the serious crime?
According to the prosecution file obtained by Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha, the couple had separated after a long relationship, but Buzi repeatedly asked to get back together with the young woman.
She had previously reported him for stalking in 2025, and the 35-year-old had served several months in prison. Even after his release, however, he continued insisting that they reconcile, despite the woman’s refusal.
According to the file, the stalking of the young woman began immediately on March 19, the day the 35-year-old was released from prison after serving his sentence. Although a protection order was in place against him, Buzi contacted her from time to time using different phone numbers.
In her complaint filed on April 22, the 23-year-old recounted the terror she had experienced in recent days. She said that her former fiancé repeatedly blocked her path near the Emergency Department of Fier Regional Hospital, where she was completing her nursing internship, as well as at nearby cafés.
In one incident, she said Buzi picked her up in his Volkswagen and drove her toward a hotel in Novoselë. When she refused to get out, he threatened to harm himself:
“Get out of the car and let’s go inside so I can prove that I won’t touch you without your consent. Either get out or I’ll set myself on fire with gasoline in front of you, or you’ll kill me without anyone knowing, then take a taxi and leave without anyone finding out… I’m not an animal, and the things I did before I went to prison, I did because I wasn’t mentally well,” he said.
After they left the hotel to have lunch, the suspect gave the young woman three ultimatums, making it clear that he would never leave her alone:
“If you want to separate from me, you will not have anyone else in your life. You will wait for me for a period of time—December, June or until August. And the third condition is that, regardless of how things end between the two of us, it costs you nothing to meet me and have a good time with me. If you do not accept any of these conditions and want to separate, then I will make all of you disappear as a family, and your relatives will be held responsible.”
She also stated that he threatened her, saying: “I will wipe you out as a family, I will kill your parents!”
The girl’s mother called for immediate intervention by the justice system, saying that the former fiancé’s actions were destroying her daughter’s life, health and education.
When questioned by investigators after being caught in the act by police, Refit Buzi admitted that he had contacted his former partner despite being fully aware of the protection order.
“I contacted her because I love her and still have feelings for her, I want to get back together… I haven’t been able to leave her alone,” he told police.
Following the latest complaint, Fier Police arrested him again and seized the mobile phones of both parties, where dozens of messages, calls and voice messages containing threats and insults were found.
