Important in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, who is expected to be Lajčak’s successor?

“The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, has decided that the diplomat from Denmark, Peter Sorensen, will be the special representative for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

This position is currently held by Miroslav Lajčak. Radio Free Europe has learned from diplomatic sources in the EU that Sorensen’s name has been sent for approval to the member states of the bloc. His candidacy will be on the agenda at the meeting of the EU Political and Security Committee (PSC), where representatives from all member states are present.

Diplomatic sources said that, according to past practice, the confirmation of Sorensen by the member states will only be a formal procedure, as Kallas has already chosen him as the special envoy for the dialogue.”
