"Install new tents with your own money" / Traders protest in front of Korçë Municipality: “It’s unaffordable for us"

Traders from the “Macedonian market” in the city of Korçë protested this Friday in front of the municipality, after a decision communicated to them a day earlier requiring the removal of their existing shop awnings and their replacement with new ones, whose shape and colors are defined by the municipality.

This investment is expected to be covered by the traders’ own income, which is why they protested, stating that in conditions where it has become difficult for businesses to survive, this imposed cost by the municipality is unaffordable for them.

After waiting for more than an hour for the mayor to come out and speak with them, the traders left, saying that under these conditions they will continue to sell only inside their shops, without displaying goods outside, as they are unable to pay for the awnings and the municipality’s new vision for the Macedonian market.
