Korçë / Stepfather arrested after allegedly stabbing 18-year-old in the head with a knife

Korçë Police have clarified the serious incident that occurred last night, where a family dispute escalated into the stabbing of an 18-year-old with a knife and the arrest of the alleged attacker.

According to the official police statement, at around 9:55 p.m., an 18-year-old identified by the initials A.S. arrived at the Emergency Department of the Korçë Regional Hospital with a head injury.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the young man was injured during an argument over minor motives with his stepfather, 37-year-old N.B.

Police said that immediately after the incident, the 37-year-old fled the scene in an attempt to avoid arrest. However, thanks to the swift response of police officers, he was located, apprehended, and escorted to the Korçë Police Station, where he was formally arrested pending further legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, investigators, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, are continuing their investigation to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and properly document the case.

At this stage of the investigation, police have stated that the dispute stemmed from minor motives, while no further details have been released regarding the specific circumstances that led to its escalation.
