Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that paving works have started on the Potom–Backë–Qafa e Martës road, an investment expected to bring the regions of Korçë and Berat closer together by creating a new connection between Korçë and Skrapar.
Through a post on social media, the head of government described the project as a strategic and long-awaited investment, which, according to him, will bring numerous benefits for residents and the local economy.
“Paving has begun on the Potom–Backë–Qafa e Martës road, a strategic investment that connects Skrapar with Korçë, bringing two regions closer through modern and long-awaited infrastructure. For the residents of the area, this is not just a road; it is the beginning of a new stage of development,” Rama wrote.
According to the Prime Minister, the investment will facilitate citizens’ movement, reduce transportation costs, strengthen the local economy, and create more opportunities for farmers and entrepreneurs. He also emphasized that the road will have a positive impact on tourism development by promoting one of the areas with the greatest natural potential in the country.
“Every kilometer of this road is another step toward connecting communities, economic development, and improving the quality of life for residents,” Rama concluded in his message.
