Elvis Koçi, also known as Elvis Çaushllari or by the nickname “Vis Korçari”, was arrested on Saturday evening in Ksamil following a joint operation by operational forces from Tirana and the Saranda Police Station.

According to preliminary information, officers from Tirana had been monitoring the 34-year-old for some time and located him during the day in the Ksamil area. Around 22:30, an operation was organized to detain him, with the participation of undercover agents from the crime sector in Saranda.

Sources from the scene report that, upon noticing the police presence, Çaushllari attempted to escape by performing dangerous maneuvers with his vehicle. During the escape, he is suspected of hitting two civilian vehicles used by the police, initially managing to evade the officers.

Immediately after the incident, a pursuit was organized, with forces from the FNSH also involved from Saranda.

After about 30 minutes of searching, the 34-year-old was located near a private business on the Ksamil–Butrint road, where he was arrested. Police also seized the vehicle he was driving, which is registered in his brother’s name.

So far, there is no official statement regarding the reason for his detention. However, unofficial sources suggest he may be wanted in connection with a decision by the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO).

Çaushllari is known as a figure involved in conflicts between criminal groups in Elbasan and has a previous criminal record. In 2022, he was arrested by SPAK as part of the “Golden Bullet” operation and was released a year later.

His name has also been mentioned in investigations related to clashes with the Suel Çela group in Elbasan. According to earlier reports, he also survived an assassination attempt in 2020.
