POLICE / Arrests in Korça. Cannabis Seized in Pogradec. Incident in Kolonje. Here’s What Happened.

Specialists of the Road Traffic Sector arrested in flagrante delicto citizens V. M., 37 years old, and L. M., 40 years old, residents of Korça, after they were caught driving vehicles while under the influence of alcohol.

Following the preliminary information provided yesterday about the accident in the village of Vreshtas, we inform you that the specialists of the Road Traffic Sector have submitted the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where a criminal procedure has been initiated against citizen F. B., 77 years old, resident of Vreshtas, for the criminal offenses of "Violation of road traffic rules" and "Actions that obstruct the discovery of the truth." Investigations revealed that this citizen had moved the vehicle from the accident site.

Specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Sector submitted the materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens E. M., 26 years old, resident of Pogradec, and K. K., 24 years old, resident of Korça, after a physical search revealed a quantity of suspected narcotic substance, cannabis sativa.

Specialists of the Crime Investigation Sector at the Korça Police Station submitted the materials to the Prosecutor's Office and issued a warrant for the arrest of citizen A. F., 31 years old, resident of Korça, for the criminal offense of “Abandoning Minor Children.” She has been missing for 3 days and left her four minor children behind. Efforts are underway to locate her.

Specialists of the Crime Investigation Sector at the Pogradec Police Station submitted the materials to the Prosecutor’s Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens D. K., 49 years old, and S. K., 42 years old, residents of Pogradec, after they had a conflict with each other over trivial reasons.

Kolonje / On April 17, 2025, a fire broke out in the village of Boshanj, burning an area of land, resulting in approximately 10 hectares of vegetation being destroyed and various trees being partially damaged. Efforts are underway to determine the cause of the fire.

The procedural materials have been transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of the General Jurisdiction in Korça for further action.
