The coded police operation "Midnight 16" is finalized, for cracking down on the criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign citizens, against payment, for illegal border crossing.

The 53-year-old man was arrested and put in handcuffs after he disobeyed the order of the police officers to stop the vehicle in which he was transporting, against payment, 15 immigrants who were going to cross the border illegally.

The vehicle, 2 mobile phones and a sum of money were seized.

The Illegal Traffic Investigation Specialists of DVP Korça organized and finalized the coded police operation "Midnight 16". As a result of this operation, the citizen was arrested in the act:

-P. G., 53 years old, resident of Pogradec.

The Police Services, on the basis of the information provided by the information intelligence, for a citizen who would transport foreign citizens against payment, in order for them to cross the border illegally, organized the actions on the "Qafë Plloçë-Pogradec" road axis. made it possible to locate the suspect vehicle. The citizen P. G., having just found out that he was being chased by the Police, tried to leave quickly in a vehicle, disobeying the order of the Police officers to stop, but he was immediately caught and neutralized. During the search in the "Rexton" type vehicle, 15 immigrants were found.

From the entirety of the investigative actions and the evidence provided, it turned out that the 53-year-old would transport immigrants, against payment, in order to cross illegally to EU countries.

As material evidence, the vehicle, 2 mobile phones and a sum of money were seized.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further actions.
