SKËNDERBEU: THE FINAL PUSH FOR VICTORY AGAINST BYLIS

On October 20, 2024, Skënderbeu celebrated its last victory in the Superliga with a narrow 1-0 win away against Bylis in Ballsh. Since then, an entire phase has almost passed, with the team managing only draws and losses. Following that match, coach Ivan Gvozdenović’s squad registered four draws and four consecutive defeats, bringing them to the 9th week without a win. Today marks a decisive moment—the day of reckoning.

For Skënderbeu, there are no excuses left. Only three points will suffice in this must-win match, a fact well understood by the players, coaching staff, and management.

Yesterday, the first three matches of the 18th round of the “Abissnet Superiore” league took place. Today, attention shifts to the games in Durrës and Korçë. Teuta hosts Egnatia, while Skënderbeu takes on Bylis, with both matches kicking off at 4:30 PM. All eyes will be on the clash at the bottom of the table in Korçë.

Skënderbeu will only be without Albi Doka, who is suspended after receiving a red card last week. Otherwise, the entire squad is in peak condition.

President Ardjan Takaj has shown considerable patience with the team so far, refraining from imposing financial penalties despite the string of poor results. However, ahead of today’s match, he is expected to remind his players of the high stakes: victory against Bylis is non-negotiable.

Skënderbeu has a golden opportunity this week as they host Bylis today and Elbasani next week. Securing six points from these two matches would be the ideal way to close out the 2024 season.
