Sports history: 25 years ago today, Skënderbeu’s female basketball team won the Super Cup

Years seem to fly by, but when you look back, you realize how beautiful everything seems. Today, I present to you a piece of sports history of the women’s basketball team, which is the pride of this city.

25 years ago today, the Korça women’s basketball team, under the guidance of coach Arjan Kostani, won the Super Cup of Albania for the second consecutive time. And let’s not forget, it was not easy at all.

According to coach Arjan Kostani: “It was one of those matches that stays in your memory and is hard to forget. A game we played against Tirana, and what made the victory even more beautiful was the fact that we won by a significant point difference, which was very difficult for these teams back in those years. However, I would say that these girls are the pride of this city, and we should all be proud and respect them for everything they have done.”
