Strict controls at Kapshticë, honey imports are banned

The Customs branch in Kapshticë has seized around 1 ton of honey because the imported quantity lacked the necessary documentation to verify the product’s food safety.

The shipment, intended for import and sale in the country, has been held in the customs warehouse until the required analyses and legal procedures are completed.

According to the General Directorate of Customs, food safety remains a priority, while consumer protection and ensuring import standards are considered primary objectives.

Authorities emphasize that inspections will continue in cooperation with relevant institutions to prevent products that do not meet legal requirements from entering the market.
