They converted the premises into a gambling venue; the administrator and the waiter were arrested

The Tirana Police arrested two people this Saturday after they had adapted a local business for organizing gambling activities.


As part of the operation codenamed “Fati i Lojërave” (“Game of Chance”), the individuals arrested are the venue’s administrator, E. B., 33, and K. Sh., 20, who was employed as a waiter.


“Operation ‘Fati i Lojërave’ continues, another illegal gambling hotspot has been struck.


The administrator and waiter of the premises where gambling was being organized have been arrested.


State Police structures are intensifying controls and continuously striking any form of illegal gambling activity.


In this context, specialists from the Cybercrime Investigation Unit in the Tirana Police Directorate, during the operation ‘Fati i Lojërave’, arrested in flagrante delicto K. Sh., 20, and E. B., 33, both residents of Tirana.


Investigations showed that on “Ali Progri” street, in the premises managed by E. B., where the 20-year-old was also employed, gambling activities were being organized in clear violation of the law.


As material evidence, 2 mobile phones and other items used for this illegal activity were seized.


The case files have been sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.


The State Police remains committed to cracking down on any attempt to conduct illegal gambling and encourages citizens to report any such cases,” the police statement said.
