Skënderbeu-Tirana 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-16)
Skënderbeu in women’s volleyball easily defeated Tirana today in a match valid for the group stage of the “Gjergj Kastrioti” League. The victory was even easier than the red-and-whites had anticipated, as they won with a clean 3-0 in a match that lasted only one hour.
At the “Tamara Nikolla” Sports Palace, Skënderbeu started energetically from the first set, leading 3-1, then 5-2, and 10-4. This difference persisted throughout the set with scores of 14-7, 17-9, and 21-11 along the way. The set ended 25-15, giving Skënderbeu a 1-0 lead in sets.
The second set began with the same momentum. After a brief 1-1 tie, the red-and-whites scored eight consecutive points, bringing the score to 9-1. This gap left Tirana struggling to recover, with the scoreboard showing 11-4, 19-7, and 21-13 in Skënderbeu’s favor. Ultimately, the set ended 25-14, and Skënderbeu secured a 2-0 lead in sets.
It was expected that Tirana would put up a fight in the third set, but Skënderbeu played flawlessly. They opened with a 7-1 lead, signaling their intention to close the match quickly. From there, the red-and-whites played freely, maintaining a constant lead of 11-3, 16-8, and 20-11 before wrapping up the set at 25-16 and winning the match decisively, 3-0.
With this victory in their final group-stage match of the “Gjergj Kastrioti” League, Skënderbeu finishes in first place with 14 points and now awaits the semifinal stage with the sole aim of winning the league trophy.
