A tragic accident occurred in the state of Gujarat, India, where a bridge over the Mahisagar River collapsed, causing the death of nine people. The incident took place in the Padra–Mujpur area of Vadodara district.

According to authorities, several vehicles including cars, trucks, and smaller vehicles, were on the bridge at the time of the collapse and fell into the river. Emergency teams, including firefighters and rescue units, responded immediately to search for survivors and recover the bodies of the victims.

The Gujarat government has launched an investigation to determine the causes of the collapse. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of India and the President have expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and promised compensation for those affected by the tragedy.

The incident has once again raised concerns about infrastructure safety in India, especially regarding bridges built decades ago that have not undergone regular technical inspections.
