A truck crashes into 3 cars in Greece / 8 injured, including 2 children. Road to Preveza blocked

A serious traffic accident occurred around midday on Friday, August 14, at the entrance to the Aktion underwater tunnel, on the Preveza side.

A truck collided with three vehicles, injuring eight people, including two children.

The injured are four men, two women, and two children. They were transported by EKAB ambulances to Preveza Hospital.

According to preliminary information, none of them are in life-threatening condition.

The collision was severe, and all four vehicles sustained significant damage.

According to initial information, the truck, bearing Greek license plates and driven by a Greek citizen, struck three private cars, hitting them one after another and causing a chain collision.

The three vehicles involved in the accident had license plates from Italy, Germany, and Romania.

Due to the collision, emergency services were immediately mobilized at the scene. The Preveza Fire Department carried out an operation to rescue three people who had become trapped inside the vehicles.

After they were pulled out, the injured individuals were handed over to medical teams and transported to the hospital for treatment.

The accident also caused an immediate disruption to traffic in the area.

On the road from Aktio toward Preveza, queues several kilometers long formed, while hundreds of drivers were left stranded.

According to local media Preveza Today, drivers stuck on the Aktion side expressed frustration over the lack of information about the situation and how long the road closure would last.

A limited police presence in the area was also reported, making traffic management more difficult.

The relevant services continued working to remove the vehicles and restore normal traffic flow.

Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the accident.
