Armed attack / 17-year-old kills 4 people and injures 8 others

An armed attack in Türkiye has left at least 4 people dead and 8 others injured near the city of Mersin.

The incident occurred in the Tarsus area, where a 17-year-old armed with a hunting rifle opened fire at several different locations, Turkish media reports.

According to the DHA and IHA news agencies, the attack began in a restaurant, where the owner and a worker were killed, while other customers were injured.

The suspect then allegedly shot and killed two additional people while fleeing the scene.

Turkish police have launched a large-scale operation to capture the attacker, who is still on the run.
