Bus carrying 35 wedding guests veers off the road and crashes into a gas station

A frightening accident was recorded in Kerala, India, where a tourist bus carrying around 35 people attending a wedding veered off the road and overturned near a petrol station.

Security camera footage shows the moment a scooter suddenly crossed in front of the bus. The driver immediately braked and sharply swerved to the right in an attempt to avoid a collision.

The forced manoeuvre caused the bus to lose control, leave the road and crash into a structure inside the petrol station before overturning onto its side.

Fortunately, the bus narrowly avoided the fuel pumps, a vehicle that was at the station and two other two-wheelers, preventing what could have been an even more serious accident.

The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. More than 20 people who were on the bus were injured, while some of them reportedly lost consciousness after the crash.

Local residents immediately intervened to pull passengers from the overturned bus before emergency teams arrived. The injured were transported to private hospitals in the Koothattukulam area.

Police, as well as fire and rescue teams, also arrived at the scene. According to police, the injuries reported do not appear to be serious.

According to preliminary reports, the bus driver swerved after the scooter allegedly crossed in front of the bus without giving the required signal.
