The wedding of Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez has been at the center of attention in the celebrity media for some time. While few details have emerged about the highly anticipated ceremony, a document has recently surfaced confirming that the couple signed a prenuptial agreement regarding the division of their assets.
The couple married in an intimate ceremony. Even Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores, was not present, with only four witnesses and the couple’s children invited. The 41-year-old and 32-year-old have been together for 10 years, ever since they met at a Gucci store in Madrid.
Although their ceremony was kept secret, a photograph of the marriage certificate was published. The couple signed a prenuptial agreement at a notary’s office in Lisbon on August 10, one day before they got married.
The certificate states that Ronaldo and Georgina agreed to a separation-of-property regime, or an agreement to keep their assets separate. This means that, if the relationship were ever to end, Georgina would not be entitled to almost half of the assets acquired during the marriage.
Instead, each property will be owned by the person who earned or purchased it. In the event of a divorce, both Ronaldo and Georgina would leave with the assets held in their respective names, while only property explicitly registered in both names would be divided between them.
The prenuptial agreement will protect Ronaldo’s existing wealth and future earnings. Georgina also has her own profitable ventures that generate income, including modeling, acting, a fashion brand, and her social media channels.
However, according to reports from Portugal, also published by Marca, under the agreement she would receive €100,000 per month in the event of a divorce. The agreement came into effect after the birth of their daughter, Alana, with the aim of protecting Georgina’s and the children’s financial security.
