Daughter of Niko Peleshi opens GoFundMe: “Let’s all help the ‘Miki’ of the Artificial Lake,” behind the costume smile hides a grandfather full of troubles

Everyone, at least once, has stopped by the Artificial Lake and seen “Miki” hugging children, smiling, taking photos, and bringing joy. For the little ones, he is simply their beloved character, but behind that costume lies the story of a grandfather whom life has not spared.

The wrinkles on his face reflect the weight of the years, exhaustion, and sacrifices. Yet every day he puts on the Mickey Mouse costume and goes out among people to earn an income, hiding his pain and life struggles behind a smile. In both heat and cold, he continues to stand there, giving happiness to children who embrace him without knowing the story he carries on his shoulders.

His figure has not gone unnoticed by citizens, while recently even the daughter of the politician and Speaker of Parliament Niko Peleshi, Aleksia Peleshi, has taken an initiative to help this elderly man who every day chooses to spread joy, even though he himself faces difficulties.

Moved by his story, she has called for solidarity and support so that the grandfather behind the “Miki” costume can feel that he is not forgotten. She has opened a GoFundMe campaign in order to raise at least some funds and bring joy to this man who always spreads happiness to others.

“Let us show our gratitude to this man who, even in hardship, chooses to spread happiness to others. Let us help him together to have a little more peace, a little more security, and to feel that people have not forgotten him. Every contribution, no matter how small, is of great value. Even if you cannot donate, please share it as much as possible. May God protect them and ease the burden of our elderly,” she wrote among other things.
