Work has begun in Korçë to restore the Skënderbeu of the past. The team is competing in the First Division this season, but promotion to the Superliga seems only a matter of time.

Sources from the club reveal that the southeastern side is already thinking about next season, with the aim of creating a competitive team for the Superliga. UEFA’s ban, which excluded Skënderbeu from European competitions for 10 years, is expected to end in February 2027. This would allow the club, if it finishes the season in the top four, to return to European competitions.

Sources close to the club emphasize that an ambitious project is being drafted for the summer, aiming not only for the championship title in the Superliga but also for a long run in Europe. A major overhaul is expected in the summer transfer window, with only the most outstanding current players likely to remain.

After a long wait, Korçë fans seem to be seeing the end of a difficult period.

Skënderbeu remains the only Albanian team to have reached the Europa League group stage twice.
