FATAL ACCIDENT / A bus falls from a 150-meter-high cliff, 14 victims reported

At least 14 people lost their lives when a bus went off the road in Bolivia and fell down a 150-meter-high cliff.

The fatal accident happened near the community of Mocomokos, in the western part of the Andean country. The bus was heading toward the capital, La Paz, according to reports from Bolivian media.

The initial death toll from the crash was at least seven, but the number doubled a few hours later. A police spokesperson said residents rushed to the scene before rescue teams arrived and freed the victims, who were transported to La Paz and the nearby city of El Alto.

The driver’s fate remains unknown, while the causes of the accident are still unclear.
