FIRST DIVISION, STANDINGS / Laçi’s historic achievement brought Skënderbeu an epic failure, ending their impressive winning streak

Laçi managed to finish this season in the First Division as league champions, achieving an epic comeback that ultimately overtook Skënderbeu.

The 1–0 victory, with a last-second goal, was only the conclusion of an impressive run for the Kurbin side, who at one point in the season found themselves more than 10 points behind the Korça team.

However, 18 wins in their last 19 matches in the regular season allowed the team led by Naxhi Shensoj to gradually close the gap and eventually surpass the Korça side.

For Skënderbeu, losing the top spot can be considered an epic failure, as they held first place comfortably for 31 out of 33 weeks in the championship standings.

In fact, before the final round, Laçi had only been in first place once before, in the second week of the season. Since then, the top spot belonged exclusively to Skënderbeu, until they surrendered it at the very end.
