"Frequent movements gave him away": Young Albanian caught selling cocaine in Italy, police also find drugs at his home

A 25-year-old Albanian man, already known to law enforcement, has been arrested in Italy on suspicion of possessing narcotics with the intent to distribute. The arrest followed an investigation launched as part of anti-drug trafficking operations along the country's coastline.

According to Italian media, officers had monitored the suspect for several days, noticing frequent trips between his home and several streets in central Cattolica, where he would briefly meet different individuals before they quickly walked away.

During the surveillance operation, Carabinieri officers caught the 25-year-old allegedly selling a dose of cocaine to a suspected buyer. Following his arrest, police searched his home with the assistance of the Riccione Local Police's drug-sniffing dog unit.

Inside the apartment, officers discovered another 50 pre-packaged doses of cocaine ready for sale. The drugs were hidden inside a handbag and in several pairs of shoes stored in a wardrobe, all wrapped in plastic bags.

Police also seized packaging materials used to prepare the drug doses, along with approximately €1,000 in cash, which investigators believe was obtained through drug trafficking.

Following the operation, the 25-year-old was taken into custody and, by order of the Rimini Public Prosecutor's Office, transferred to the city's prison, where he remains awaiting a court hearing to determine further legal measures.
