Gunfire at Trump’s dinner with journalists at the White House

Gunshots were fired in the lobby of the Hilton Washington hotel in Washington, where the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner was taking place.

The shooting occurred just a few meters away from the U.S. President and all key members of his administration: from Vice President JD Vance, to Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel.

Around 2,600 journalists were in the hall, who, terrified, sought shelter under tables and behind columns in a venue that is a symbol of the American capital. It was in this very place that, in 1981, former President Ronald Reagan was injured in an assassination attempt.
