Gunshots in Athens: Three Albanians arrested after a police chase

A shooting incident shocked the Athens neighborhood of Patisia on Wednesday afternoon, where one person was injured following an attack at a mobile phone shop.


According to Greek media, at around 6:30 p.m., a man entered the store located on Patision Street and shot the business owner, who is of Pakistani origin, wounding him in the leg.


After the shooting, the perpetrator fled in a gray BMW, where three other people, all of Albanian origin, were waiting for him. The injured man was immediately transported to the hospital for medical treatment.


Greek police launched an immediate chase of the vehicle, which was later located on Tsounta Street, near Kifissou Boulevard, heading toward Lamia.


During the attempt to escape, the suspects’ car collided with several other vehicles before eventually coming to a complete stop.


Authorities arrested three people of Albanian origin in connection with the incident, while another suspect has been declared wanted. Investigations into fully clarifying the incident are ongoing.
