An 82-year-old man was found dead in his home in Koufalia, Thessaloniki, several days after a domestic violence incident involving his 77-year-old wife.

According to reports, the Hellenic Police were notified around 19:00 by a neighbor, and officers who rushed to the scene found the 82-year-old unconscious. His wife was also present in the house; she had recently been arrested by authorities following a complaint about a previous violent incident.

The elderly man had visible injuries, and authorities have not ruled out the possibility of criminal activity.

The case is under investigation, while the findings of the forensic doctor from the macroscopic examination are considered crucial, Protothema reports.

“He has a lover, he will throw me out of the house,” said the 77-year-old woman, who was arrested for beating her husband to death.

The conflicts had begun weeks earlier.

After the initial violence and family dispute, the couple appeared to reconcile, but the aggression returned with blows to the face and body, leading to the elderly man’s death.

“I want us to get along, I don’t want us to argue. He might throw me out so he can leave the house to him. He has a lover. I don’t want to upset my son. I have one. My husband has leg pain and uses a walking aid. I don’t want either me or my husband to go to court again,” she said before being released and before her husband’s fatal end.
