Horror in Los Angeles: Father kills his 10-year-old twin sons and then takes his own life

A tragic incident occurred on Sunday evening (June 7) in the Canoga Park neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, when a father fatally shot his two 10-year-old twin sons before taking his own life.

According to Fox LA, police were called to the scene at around 7:15 p.m., where they found distraught relatives outside a home.

The incident is believed to have taken place during a family gathering, when the children's mother suddenly heard two gunshots. When she ran toward a bedroom to see what was happening, as she later told authorities, the boys' father pointed the gun at her. The mother was not injured in the shooting. Seconds later, the man turned the gun on himself and died by suicide.

The father and his two twin sons were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel who arrived shortly after the incident.

“It’s truly heartbreaking. Two young children and a father. This is a family. No one deserves something like this,” a witness told ABC7 Eyewitness News.

So far, police have not released further details and have not yet confirmed the exact circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
