A member of the Serbian delegation attempted to stop the waving of the flag during Albanian singer Alis Kallaçi’s performance in the Eurovision final.

An incident took place at the Eurovision Media Center, where this year’s festival was held in Vienna, during the broadcast of Albanian singer Alis Kallaçi’s performance of the song “Nân.”

The event occurred in the hall where journalists, delegations, and television crews were watching the festival final. According to Albert Limani from Eurovision Kosova, a member of the Serbian delegation reacted to the waving of the Kosovo flag during Albania’s performance.

Limani, who was at the media center together with the RTK team and other Albanian representatives, said the situation arose while they were celebrating Alis Kallaçi’s appearance on the Eurovision stage.

According to him, the woman from the Serbian delegation approached the group and demanded that the Kosovo flag be removed, claiming that it was not allowed inside the festival venue. He stated that she attempted to touch the flag but failed to remove it.

In a statement published on social media, Limani declared that the Kosovo flag will continue to fly at every event attended by Albanians and that no one will be allowed to prevent its display.

He also shared a video of the incident from the Media Center in Vienna.

Meanwhile, Alis Kallaçi performed fifth in the Eurovision grand final with the song “Nân.”

The song is a ballad that explores the relationship between a mother and child and was one of the evening’s performances followed with great interest by the Albanian public.
