Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, has warned the United States that it will face consequences if it fails to respect the agreement reached between the two countries.
“The era of one-sided agreements is over. We told you: keep your word or pay the price. Reality is knocking,” Qalibaf wrote in a statement published on the X platform.
His statement comes after the latest escalation between Tehran and Washington, which has cast doubt on the future of the temporary agreement signed last month with the aim of ending the conflict.
In recent days, the US and Iran have been involved in a series of reciprocal attacks, while US President Donald Trump stated that the previously reached ceasefire is no longer in effect.
The crisis deepened after attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategic maritime transport routes.
Tensions between the two countries continue to rise, while diplomatic efforts to preserve the agreement remain under pressure.
