George Russell dominated the Sprint qualifying session in Montreal, securing first place with a time of 1:12.965 and confirming Mercedes’ fantastic form on the Canadian circuit.

Alongside him on the front row will be young talent Kimi Antonelli, just 0.068 seconds slower, completing a spectacular Mercedes one-two.

Behind Mercedes come the two McLaren cars, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri set to start from the second row, while Ferrari responded strongly with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc on the third row.

Max Verstappen could do no better than seventh place and will share the fourth row with Isack Hadjar. Meanwhile, the surprise of the day was Arvid Lindblad with Racing Bulls, who will start alongside Carlos Sainz Jr. on the fifth row.

Next come Nico Hülkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto for Audi, while Franco Colapinto and Esteban Ocon will start from the seventh row.

Oliver Bearman and Fernando Alonso are on the eighth row, with the Spaniard penalized for going off track during the session. Sergio Pérez will start only from 17th place for Cadillac, alongside Lance Stroll, while Pierre Gasly and Valtteri Bottas are behind them.

At the bottom of the standings are Alexander Albon and Liam Lawson, who caused two of the three red flags during free practice.
