The new season of the Albanian Super League will kick off with significant changes to the competition format. In addition to the previously announced "Final 4" system, a point-halving rule will also be introduced at a certain stage of the season a novelty that adds a new competitive dimension to the championship.
According to the new format presented to the 10 participating teams, each club will face the others three times during the season. This model is similar to the one previously used in the First Division and aims to increase the intensity and rivalry of matches, especially during the second phase of the championship.
The point-halving will take effect before the start of the "Final 4" phase, giving more teams a realistic chance to fight for their seasonal goals whether that's the league title or qualification for European competitions.
This major format change is expected to bring more excitement and competition right up to the end of the season. Further details on the new system are expected to be made public in the coming days, while clubs have already begun preparing to adapt to the new rules of the game.
