Minister’s husband disappears in lake, extensive search teams deployed

A serious incident has been reported in Italy, where the husband of Family Affairs Minister Eugenia Roccella has gone missing in the waters of Lake Vico, around 80 kilometers northwest of Rome.

According to reports from the Italian news agency ANSA, Luigi Cavallari was on a boat with his wife when he suddenly fell into the water and was no longer seen resurfacing.

Media sources report that the minister herself raised the alarm around 5:30 p.m. after seeing her husband in distress and unable to get out of the water.

Immediately after the alert, intensive search and rescue operations were launched in the area.

Police forces, firefighters, specialized diving units, and emergency teams are currently on the scene, continuing efforts to locate Luigi Cavallari.

So far, there is no new information regarding his fate, while search operations remain ongoing.
