According to British scientist Simon Boxall, an oceanographer at the University of Southampton, the solution to this mystery is not related to interdimensional portals, giant sea creatures, or visitors from outer space. He believes the cause is rogue waves that can form in this area.

In a simulation conducted by his team, the case of the American ship USS Cyclops, which sank in 1918 taking 309 lives with it, was reconstructed. Boxall explains that if storms coming from the south and north merge with those from Florida, very powerful waves can be created, reaching heights of over 30 meters.

According to him, these waves are strong enough to bend a large ship and break it in half, sinking it within just a few minutes.

Other scientific viewpoints

However, not all scientists agree with this theory. The United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) considers that most of the disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle can be explained by environmental factors.

According to them, the large number of islands in the Caribbean and the shallow areas present navigational hazards, which are possible causes for many of the incidents.

Conclusion

Although many theories have been proposed over the years to explain the Bermuda Triangle mystery, science offers reasonable explanations related to nature and atmospheric conditions. Nevertheless, this area will continue to be a subject of curiosity and legends, captivating generations.
