NO SURPRISES IN GROUP C / Brazil comfortably beat Scotland and secure first place, Morocco finish second

Brazil, led by Carlo Ancelotti, secured first place in Group C of the 2026 World Cup after a convincing 3–0 victory over Scotland in their final group-stage match. The Brazilian national team had no difficulties against the Scots, who appeared powerless throughout the match.

The standout player of the game was Vinícius Júnior, who scored twice in the 7th and 48th minutes, while Matheus Cunha sealed the win with a third goal in the 60th minute. In the second half, Neymar also returned, making his debut in this edition of the World Cup and recording his fourth appearance in a World Cup in his career, receiving applause from the fans.

With this result, Brazil finishes top of the group and will face the second-placed team from Group F in the Round of 16, where the Netherlands, Japan, and Sweden are competing.

On the other hand, Scotland is in a difficult situation. The heavy defeat has left them with a negative goal difference (-3), seriously jeopardizing their qualification as one of the best third-placed teams.

In the other Group C match, Morocco secured qualification after a 4–2 win over Haiti, but not without struggles. The African side found themselves trailing twice in the first half, first due to a goal by Isidor and then after an own goal by goalkeeper Bono.

However, the Moroccans responded quickly, equalizing twice through Achraf Hakimi and Ismael Saibari. In the second half, they took control of the game and sealed the victory thanks to goals from Soufiane Rahimi and Yassine.

Even though they finished the group with 7 points, the same as Brazil, Morocco ended up in second place due to an inferior goal difference (+3 compared to Brazil’s +6).
