KV Pogradeci, a golden history in women’s volleyball.

The Mayor of Pogradec, Ilir Xhakolli, yesterday welcomed the city’s women’s volleyball team, together with coaches Besnik Lisha and Saimir Dragoi, to congratulate and thank them for the historic success achieved this season.

The girls of Pogradec wrote the brightest page in the club’s history by winning for the first time two major trophies in a single season: the “Gjergj Kastrioti” League and the Albanian Cup in women’s volleyball.

During the reception, the mayor thanked the athletes and the staff for the emotions they have given to the city through their game, dedication and team spirit, raising the name of Pogradec high in Albanian sport.

He also announced that he will continue to offer maximum support for the team and will propose that the squad be declared “The Pride of the City” by official decision.

The team’s next goal is now to win the Albanian Women’s Volleyball Superleague, which would secure the club a historic treble this season.
