Dan Greaney, the four-time Emmy Award-winning writer who penned the famous The Simpsons episode “Bart to the Future” — widely known for its apparent “prediction” of Donald Trump becoming president 16 years before it happened — has announced his candidacy for the 2028 U.S. presidential election.
In a video posted on Instagram, Greaney initially appears dressed as a wizard and describes himself as a “self-proclaimed prophet,” while sharply criticizing American politics:
“Trump, Vance, billionaires, career politicians, and cowards from both parties have turned their backs on the United States.
For them, there is money, power, and security. For you, there is not.”
The writer then continues in a satirical and ironic tone, claiming he lacks the qualifications to run for office, before delivering a surprise twist at the end of the video.
“In America, government should work for everyone. Democracy for everyone, accountability for everyone, prosperity for everyone,” he emphasizes.
At that moment, Greaney removes the wizard costume and appears in a suit and tie as a candidate for the White House, describing himself as a “progressive Republican” in the tradition of Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.
His campaign slogan is:
“One America for all. Let’s get to work.”
