Rogert Sterkaj speaks openly: “I lost millions of euros from gambling! I even started touching my parents’ savings”

After leaving the most famous house in Albania, Rogert Sterkaj breaks his silence in an exclusive interview on “Flet me Ilnisa Agolli,” broadcast every Thursday on Top Channel and Top Albania Radio.
In a 360-degree confession, Rogerti spoke about his entire life, from emigration, to his addiction to gambling, and his experience on Big Brother VIP Albania.
When asked by Ilnisa Agolli about the problems caused by his gambling addiction, Rogerti admitted that over the years he has lost millions of euros. He also revealed that one of his biggest mistakes was using his parents’ savings due to his addiction.
“Every penny I earned and I earned quite a lot, I would lose within half an hour. I’d go to casinos, place bets…” he said.
“How much money have you lost in total?” Agolli asked.
“Well, if you calculate it, I can say millions of euros! I may have lost millions over the years. Then I started touching their savings too, which is one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made in my life. My father went into debt, he cried for me, he got on his knees for €10,000 that I owed to a company because I wanted to fix a loan so I wouldn’t lose it. When I saw my father crying, saying ‘how could you do this?’… I took the €10,000 to put it in the bank, but I didn’t, I went and spent it. That’s when I said, this is the end for me!” he continued.
When asked if he fears relapsing into this addiction, Rogerti said that the fear of losing his son helps him stay on track.
“Of course, but I think the more you grow in life, the more you learn to manage yourself and your past mistakes and say, never again. Those are very dark moments. I don’t want to go back there. Why? Because I don’t want to lose my son! My son is the one who changed my life. My wife is here today, but tomorrow she might leave. But my son has nowhere to go, he has me as his father. I don’t want to lose him, because if I lose my wife, I lose my son too,” said Rogert Sterkaj.
