A tragic incident was reported at Antalya Airport in Turkey, where, according to Turkish media reports, a former police officer shot and killed his partner.
Hüseyin Durmaz, 51, shot his 38-year-old girlfriend, Elina Şengün, who was of Georgian origin. Medical teams and police immediately arrived at the scene, and Şengün was rushed to hospital. Despite the doctors’ efforts, the mother of two succumbed to her injuries.
Durmaz was taken into police custody and transported to the police station for further procedures.
According to Turkish media reports, the victim worked as a sales consultant at the airport and had been in a relationship with the former police officer for two years. He had allegedly been repeatedly threatening her, and when he could not find her at home this morning, he went to the airport and shot her with his service weapon after seeing her there.
