Britney Spears’ ex-partner, Sam Asghari, recently spoke about the famous singer, claiming that she experienced oppression from those around her, comparing her situation to that of women in Iran.
The 32-year-old actor appeared on the show “Piers Morgan Uncensored” on Wednesday, March 11, where he mostly discussed the situation in Iran, his country of birth.
During the conversation, Piers Morgan asked him about recent controversies surrounding the artist, a few days after her arrest for driving under the influence.
“Coming from Iran and seeing women being oppressed… I’m not exactly comparing the two situations… But she was oppressed by many people who took advantage of her,” he said.
“I have seen what she went through. Even though we were married for only a year, we were together for seven years, so my respect for her will always remain.”
Sam Asghari also emphasized that he believes the singer can overcome the challenges she faces, saying, “I truly believe she is a strong woman and that she can bounce back.”
Britney Spears was arrested last week after a dangerous incident on a highway was reported through a 911 call. She was later released and is expected to appear in court on May 4.
