A tragic incident occurred in the Netherlands, where two brothers killed their 18-year-old sister.

The family was of Syrian origin and had come to the Netherlands as refugees. According to foreign media, the crime was ordered by the girl’s father after they discovered that the 18-year-old had a boyfriend.

The girl had been reported missing and was found two days later, thrown into a canal. Her hands and feet were tied with rope and tape, and she had a scarf in her mouth.

The autopsy revealed that she had been brutally assaulted and ultimately strangled, while DNA belonging to her father and brothers was found under her nails, indicating she had resisted during the attack. According to investigations, the girl had previously reported her family for abuse and had even obtained a protection order, but this order had been revoked just days before her disappearance.

The 18-year-old was killed because she had a boyfriend and, according to her father, was behaving in a way that the family considered shameful. The brothers have been arrested, while the father fled back to Syria, where he remarried. Meanwhile, nothing is known about the mother of the deceased 18-year-old.
