In 2019, scientists detected a very unusual signal from space that lasted less than a tenth of a second and didn’t resemble any of the typical signals produced when black holes collide.

This gravitational wave, named GW190521, led many researchers to consider that it might not have originated in our universe.

According to a group of Chinese scientists, the signal could have been sent from another universe through a “wormhole,” a type of space tunnel connecting two very distant locations or even two different universes.

They suggest that if two black holes collided with enough force to briefly create such a tunnel, the signal could have traveled through it and reached Earth.

Although there are still many uncertainties, this theory cannot be completely ruled out. If proven true, it would serve as evidence of other universes beyond our own a discovery that could fundamentally change how we understand the world and reality itself.
