For you, Skënderbeu fans...
For you who love Skënderbeu...
For you who do not love Skënderbeu...
For the interested journalists...
Take note of this: KF Skënderbeu Korçë, Albania’s European club, will complete its 10-year ban on June 30, 2027. Therefore, in the 2027–2028 season, the club can participate in European competitions (if it wins one of the two domestic trophies or finishes in the top 3–4 places).
Let’s break it down properly. The ban was for 10 years: 2018–19, 2019–20, 2020–21, 2021–22, 2022–23, 2023–24, 2024–25, 2025–26, 2026–27, and 2027–2028.
This is where some journalists stopped their research. This is also where even those at UEFA who respond to emails stopped... without digging deeper.
Why? Because while the initial 10-year ban officially ends on June 30, 2028, there is also a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport... a ruling that settles this matter.
This CAS ruling, from July 2019, also takes into account Skënderbeu’s suspension from the 2016–2017 European season. Paragraph 151, page 24 of the CAS decision in 2019.
Conclusion: The 10-year ban ends on June 30, 2027!!!
