Spain returns home as World Cup champions, King Felipe: An epic victory

Spain, the new World Cup champions, landed at Madrid-Barajas Airport after returning from their victorious 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.

Rodri led the celebrations, carrying the World Cup trophy as *La Roja* celebrated its triumph.

The Spanish national team then arrived at the Zarzuela Palace, the royal residence, where they were officially received following their World Cup victory. King Felipe congratulated the players, calling it an epic triumph.

After 16 years, thanks to you, Spain are world champions once again. You have suffered, you are returning a little tired and exhausted, and you have faced some criticism, but what does any of that matter compared with the joy of bringing the trophy home?" he said.
