The 2025/26 season ended with Egnatia's triumph after the “Final Four” stage, with the Rrogozhina-based team outperforming all of its rivals despite finishing the regular season in third place in the standings.

Attention will now turn to the upcoming season, where a change in the competition format cannot be ruled out. This possibility was mentioned by the President of the Albanian Football Federation, Armand Duka, in an interview given immediately after the conclusion of the final championship matches.

“It is impossible for next season to have a change in the number of teams because of the Albanian Football Federation's regulations. As for the format, it is something we need to discuss. It seems that supporters from other regions find it difficult to travel to Tirana,” said President Duka.

The head of Albanian football's governing body acknowledged that attendance during the “Final Four” phase did not meet expectations, attributing this in part to the absence of two capital-city clubs, Partizani and Tirana.

“Attendance at the ‘Final Four’ was not satisfactory. Of course, the absence of Partizani and Tirana had a negative impact. Therefore, for next season we will review what format we will use.

The number of teams will not increase for the 2026/27 season. I do not know yet whether there will be four rounds of matches or a playoff system. We will examine all the options and make a decision. We will decide within the first 15 days of June,” Duka stated.
