The first consequence of the war for Albania: the National Team’s match is canceled

The Communication Department of the Albanian Football Federation has announced that the friendly match planned between the U-21 national teams of the United States and Albania will not take place. The match was scheduled for March 30 in Antalya, Turkey.

According to the announcement from the U.S. Soccer Federation to the Albanian Football Federation, the decision to cancel the match was made for security reasons due to the situation in the Middle East. For this reason, the American team decided not to travel to Turkey, making it impossible to hold the match.

Meanwhile, the Albanian Football Federation is working to secure another opponent for the U-21 national team, aiming to organize a different friendly match on March 30.

Before that date, Albania U-21 is expected to play another test match on March 27 in Antalya against Japan U-21.
