TRAGEDY / Plane crashes into residential area, fatalities reported

Two people lost their lives today when a small airplane crashed into a residential area in the southwestern German town of Limburgerhof.

“Based on the investigation so far, the two people on board were killed in the accident. At the moment, there are no reports of injured residents,” police spokesperson Thorsten Mischler said.

However, according to public broadcaster SWR, at least one other person was injured.

A large number of police officers and emergency teams are at the scene.

“The crash site has been cordoned off over a wide area,” the police spokesperson added.

Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
