Turkey eliminated from the World Cup, U.S. takes top spot in Group A

The Turkish national team has been eliminated from the 2026 World Cup after a narrow defeat to Paraguay.

This marks the second loss for the team coached by the Italian manager, following the earlier defeat against Australia.

Paraguay scored in the 2nd minute.

Turkey qualified for the European play-off stage after finishing second in Group E, behind Spain. The team then secured its ticket to the World Cup by defeating Romania 1–0 and Kosovo 1–0 in the decisive matches.
